The platform uses a separate “worker” system to perform long-running jobs via a queue. This improves the User experience for Shop & Admin as it prepares information without slowing them down. The jobs range from sending transactional emails, post-processing orders, listening for extra payment events, checking product & SKU “health”, keeping Google Shopping & 3rd party connected applications in sync.
The worker continuously monitors systems and raises awareness of notable events via Slack so action can be taken. Some system checks can be triggered by agents to highlight opportunities for improving Product data such as highlighting missing properties, names have changed or advising when to move categories.
The worker also triggers check events when Product/SKU/Inventory updates are received from your own API.
